Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to estimate how many patients currently smoke tobacco who are diagnosed with breast, colon, and prostate cancer, to understand what patients know about the harms of continuing to smoke, and to learn about any previous efforts to quit.

Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to estimate the prevalence of smoking among patients diagnosed with breast, colon, and prostate cancer and assess patient knowledge of the harms of continued smoking as well as previous cessation efforts.
Participants will not be paid for their participation.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: prostate cancer,breast cancer,colon cancer
  • Age: 18 years - 100 years
  • Gender: All

Inclusion Criteria
Patients diagnosed with breast, colon, or prostate cancer of any stage
>= 18 years old at the time of informed consent
Able to read and write in English
Patients who currently smoke tobacco products
Hematology/oncology physicians who see patients in the oncology clinics of IU Simon Cancer Center (IUSCC) and Eskenazi Health
Exclusion Criteria
Inability to complete the survey
