Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to determine if dynamic balance varies from person to person depending on foot structure and fatigue.

Detailed description of study

The proposed study aims to compare the activation levels of the abductor hallucis and tibialis anterior muscles during a dynamic balancing task between individuals with varying foot arches.
This study takes place in Bloomington, IN and is only recruiting IU Bloomington students.

Participants will not be paid for their participation.


Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: healthy
  • Age: 18 years - 30 years
  • Gender: All

Inclusion Criteria
Must be between 18 to 30 years of age and enrolled at Indiana University - Bloomington in at least 6 credit hours
Participate in at least 120 minutes of physical activity each week
Exclusion Criteria
Have a history of fractures or surgeries in the lower leg
Have had a lower extremity injury in the last 6 weeks
Have a neuromuscular condition such as MS or Parkinson's Disease
