Body Composition and Psychosocial Factors in ICI-Treated Cancer Patients
Study of Body Composition and Well-Being Factors in Cancer Patients on Immunotherapy
Brief description of study
Evaluation of the effects of body composition, psychosocial factors, and drug-related problems on clinical progression (such as toxicity, treatment response, and quality of life) in cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Cancer, Psychosocial Functioning, Treatment Side Effects, Cachexia
-
Age: 18 years or above
-
Gender: All
Inclusion Criteria:
- Aged 18 years or older
- Having undergone a CT scan (at the L3 level) prior to treatment
- No severe mental disorder and able to communicate effectively
- Provided written informed consent
Exclusion Criteria:
- Did not provide written informed consent
- Patients deemed unsuitable by the physician
The purpose of this research study is to learn how body composition (how much muscle and fat you have), psychosocial factors (mental and social well-being), and medicine-related problems relate to clinical progression in adults with cancer who are treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (a type of immunotherapy). The study will look at outcomes such as treatment side effects, how the cancer responds to treatment, and quality of life.
Participants will be adults with cancer who are being treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors. Participants will have already had a CT scan that includes a specific area of the lower back (the L3 level) before starting treatment. The study team will use information about body composition, psychosocial factors, and drug-related problems to evaluate how these factors relate to side effects, treatment response, and quality of life.
Who can participate:
Adults with cancer may be able to participate if they:
- Are age 18 or older
- Have had a CT scan at the L3 level before starting treatment
- Do not have a severe mental disorder and can communicate effectively
