Social Network Dynamics and Oral Health Disparities in Mexican American Immigrants
Brief description of study
The purpose of this study is to understand, through getting your answers to questions on a survey, personal and community social network factors that lead to Mexican immigrants having trouble accessing and utilizing dental care, and features of anxiety associated with relocating to a new place to live.
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to apply Social Networks Analysis (SNA) methods to characterize how social norms, attitudes, resources, and information around dental care and oral health are supported or undermined through personal and community networks, and affect individual behavior and outcomes.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: healthy,Mexican American immigrants,Mexican American,oral health,disparities

Age: 18 years - 100 years

Gender: All
Inclusion Criteria
Born in Mexico to at least one Mexican parent
Migrated to the US less than or equal to 3 months from the date of enrollment into the study OR migrated to the US 2-5 years ago from the date of enrollment into the study and named as an alter by one of the focal respondents
Exclusion Criteria
Unable to speak and read Spanish or English
Affected by physical, neurological, or mental impairments that would make the individual unable to provide information in the interviews
Member of the same nuclear family of an enrolled participant
